Changanacherry Taluk NSS Union was registered by Bharathakesari Mannathu Padmanabhan on 7th Novemeber,1936 (Kollavarsham 1112 ,Thulam 22).The first president of the Taluk Union was Sri P D Krishna Pillai. He was followed by Sri N Vasudevan Pillai and Sri K P Mahadevan Pillai as presidents. Sri N Bhaskaran Nair, who later became the president of Nair Service Society, was the president of the Taluk Union for a long period. The Taluk Union obtained its own building during his tenure. Sri Koikal Govinda Pillai,Adv. P K Narayana Panicker and Sri E K Raju had served the Union as Vice presidents.
Sri Chathenkeri Bhaskaran Pillai, Sri Rajappan
Nair and Sri P K Nair were Secretaries of the Taluk Union .Sri G Sukmaran Nair
was elected the president of the Union after Sri N Bhaskaran Nair. He has completed
more than 50 years of devoted service in Nair Service Society. Sri G Sukumaran
Nair was also the president of the Panchayath Committee.
During his
tenure as the president, the Taluk Union witnessed many developmental
activities. The Taluk Union in the organizational level was strengthened. One
acre of land was bought on the side of M C Road at Perunna. A modern crematorium,
which was a long- standing demand of the Nair community in Changanachery Taluk
Union, was built .The land was donated by the Karayogam of the General Secretary
( No 282 Vazhappally kizhakku).During his able leadership the Taluk Union
showed exemplary performance .The Taluk Union always seeks the valuable advice
and guidance of Sri G Sukumaran Nair in all its endeavours and is indebted to
him for the guidance and patronship it receives.
Sri Harikumar Koikal is the President
of the Taluk Union. He was the Vice president of the Taluk Union for over two
decades. He assumed office as the president
on 26-06-2011.He is member of the Director Board and the Secretary of
Agriculture Department. When Sri G Sukumaran Nair was elected the General
Secretary of the Nair Service Society he resigned his position as the president
of the Changanacherry Taluk NSS Union. The Union general body was held and Sri Hariumar koikal was elected the president
of the Union. Following the footsteps of the former president Sri G Sukumaran
Nair, Sri Harikumar Koikal is giving able leadership to the Taluk Unon.
There are 71 Karayogams, 67
Vanitha samajams, 62 Balasamajams, 215 Vanitha Swayam Sahaya Sangams,
Balasamajam Union ,Mannam Social Service Society and Human Resource Centre
under Changanachery Taluk NSS Union.Sri VG Bhaskaran Nair ,who has been a senior member of the union committee, is the Vice President. He is giving sincere service and wholehearted support to the president. Adv. Purushothaman Nair is the president of the Panchayath committee.Sri M Sreekumar is the Secretary of Mannam Social Service Society. Sri M N Radhakrishnan Nair has been serving the Union as the Secretary for over 30 years. Sri M S Ratheeshkumar is the Additional Inspector. Sri P G Sasidharakurup is the office clerk.
